BOOMTOWN - New album out now!

Our long awaited third album

Boomtown is the exciting culmination of several long years of writing, performing and perfecting songs in the dynamic punk-pop-ska-folk fusion that fans have come to expect. It is the first album to feature in full the current (and best looking) band line up and is a sincere representation of the energy, tight synchronisation and humour of their live shows (minus the Banjo playing!)

The album includes the much requested title-track, Boomtown, a reggae-driven anthem about the Black Country town of Coseley, as well as both of the current singles Fascist in the Workplace (a song beloved of subordinate employees everywhere) and The Ballad of Chairman Pat, another ska-punk soaked blast of observation and humour. Other tunes tell stories of politics, the lives of great women and the day to day humorous and satirical tales of friends, life experience and the world around us. There is also a song about a bass player with fat fingers . . .

‘The Black Country Clash’ - Attila the Stockbroker

SHOTGUN MARMALADE are a hi-energy, original pop-punk-ska-folk live band playing a fusion of music in a stlye reminiscent of late 70' early 80's guitar bands such as The Clash, The Members and the Buzzcocks, but also including more contemporary elements akin to Rancid, Reel Big Fish, Operation Ivy, The Dropkick Murphys and The Rumjacks. They are a power trio (Sid - guitar/vocal, Ryan - Bass/Howling, Rob - Drums/vocals) who guarantee to skank, pogo and sweat blood in each and every performance. Shotgun Marmalade can also sometimes be just Sid solo on punkoustic guitar, adding the occassional mandolin pluck for good measure to the same songs with the same energy.

Formed in 2019 from the fertile Stourbridge underground music scene in the West Midlands, they gig around the country at a wide range of festivals and venues and are always looking to visit new places.  They have been lucky enough to share the stage, venue and festival, with a quality range of artists such as TV Smith, Headsticks, Jess Silk, The Newcranes, Matt Johnson & the Reprobates, Undercover Hippy, Attila the Stockbroker, Dan Donnally & Jon Sevink (The Levellers) and Funke & the Two-Tone baby to name but a few.

They have released three albums to date 'Hopeless Row'  ‘The Cook-up and Knock’ and now ‘BOOMTOWN’! Also one acoustic EP (Punkoustic #1 - Rip it up!) (see music page)

Ten banging tracks (to my mind anyway - Ha Ha!!)) in the indie-punk-ska-folk-rock stylee (have I left anything out??) that should have seen the light of day in August last year but for . . . world plague, drummers leaving, arsing around etc. Recorded and finished in my own wasteland workshop (The Mended Drum) Some older songs, some new, some re-invented but all originals by Sid (except ‘The Blackleg Miner’ which is traditional but arranged by yours truly) Features bass work by superbloke Ryan Peters.
