The Black Country Clash” - Attila the Stockbroker

Shotgun Marmalade

Black country Pop-punk-ska

Shotgun Marmalade are an original, hi-energy pop-punk-ska-folk fusion three-piece from Stourbridge in the West Midlands. Described as ‘The Black Country Clash’ (Attila the Stockbroker) their music is reminiscent of late seventies/ early 80’s guitar pop-punk with elements of Rancid, The Buzzcocks, Ferocious Dog, The Ruts, Dropkick Murphys, The Rumjacks and The Members. Their live performances are dynamic and energetic, saturated with attitude and a strong sense of humour. They gig regularly both locally and around the country at varied venues and festivals (Bearded Theory, Glastonwick and Ey up Mi Duck amongst many others) and have released three albums and one EP to date, Their latest being the epic 'BOOMTOWN'.

Boomtown is the exciting culmination of several long years of writing, performing and perfecting songs in the dynamic punk-pop-ska-folk fusion that fans have come to expect. It is the first album to feature in full the current (and best looking) band line up and is a sincere representation of the energy, tight synchronisation and humour of their live shows (minus the Banjo playing!)

The album includes the much requested title-track, Boomtown, a reggae-driven anthem about the Black Country town of Coseley, as well as both of the current singles Fascist in the Workplace (a song beloved of subordinate employees everywhere) and The Ballad of Chairman Pat, another ska-punk soaked blast of observation and humour. Other tunes tell stories of politics, the lives of great women and the day to day humorous and satirical tales of friends, life experience and the world around us. There is also a song about a bass player with fat fingers . . .
